Info for Retailers

Do you want your store to be included in our search reults? Add your products to Google Base! A wide variety of barcode searching applications (like barcodescan, ShopSavvy and RedLaser) are now searching through this tool to provide relevant results to customers. This tool has the ability to store UPC, ISBN, or EAN-13 data in addition to LOCATION and price information.

What this means for you: when a user searches for a product that you offer, and is physically near your brick-and-mortar store, you’ll come up in a list of LOCAL results.

Information about uploading can be found here:

http://www.google.com/base

If you’re not ready to take that step, you can make your own API for us to access. Not only will we access it, but others will too! Instead of defining our own protocol, we’ve decided to “go with the flow” and recommend that you use ShopSavvy’s reccomended version found here:

http://www.biggu.com/2009/10/01/note-to-retailers-who-want-in-shopsavvy/

Then send us an email at newretailerapplications@barcodescanapp.com! That’s it!

For the coders out there, the details of the protocol look like this:
