barcodescan and barcodescan pro version 1.2 are now both available in the App Store!
We’ve been working long and hard to bring you some significant updates, here is what’s new:
Automatic barcode scanning support. There is no longer a need to align the barcode and take a picture; now images are taken behind the scenes while you are positioning, which means that you can just position the barcode and as soon as it finds it, the details begin to load. Greatly increases ease of use and scan success rate.

Delete items! The most commonly requested feature is now available; delete single or multiple items from lists in a flash.
100% redesigned list manager. Users can now have multiple lists with custom names, items in multiple lists, move items between lists, and share entire lists. The list manager is built using a powerful and flexible database to optimize for speed and expandability.
Added real-time preview of barcodes when typing them in
Added location services to automatically record the current location when items are searched for and lookup the nearest address to display in the history
Enhanced price comparison engine. Now shows lowest, average and highest prices and searches Google Base for a wide variety of up to the minute prices from hundreds of vendors
Enhanced iTunes music store integration. Now displays albums and album art for relevant searches, touching an item brings you direct to the iTunes Music Store on the device.
Quicker searches using mobile optimized sites. For faster access to data, direct links to mobile-optimized sites are displayed when relevant.
Better handling of unfound items. Instead of failing outright, users now have the option of sending a note and picture associated with unfound items to help us improve the search results.
New settings pane. Items are now correctly cached on the device for fast recall and users can decide how long to store them before they are updated from online sources. The maximum number of items in the history can also now be selected in the settings pane.
Many crashes and bugs fixed – now much more stable.
